Dr. Samuel Feldman was born on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, but grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. He attended College of Charleston, where he was a part of the Honors College. He graduated from college with top honors, a distinction given to the graduating student with the highest GPA. Dr. Feldman then went to medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He discovered his passion for ophthalmology while participating in research with MUSC’s renowned pediatric ophthalmology department.
Following his intern year at Spartanburg Regional Hospital, Dr. Feldman completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Alabama’s Callahan Eye Hospital , where he was elected chief resident. Dr. Feldman then completed an intensive two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the Tschannen Eye Center, a part of University of California, Davis.
Dr. Feldman is grateful for the opportunity to return to South Carolina and serve the Upstate. While not working, he currently spends most of his time with his wife, newborn son and their dog Rosie.
